Welcome to Our Lady of Guadalupe's Graduate Support!

By way of introduction: Our Lady of Guadalupe Middle School puts the expertise of its well-educated staff and supporters as well as its connections to quality secondary and higher education at the service of our students and their families.

The gifts and talents discovered during the middle school years deserve to be developed in the best possible educational environments. Students have the potential make positive contributions to society as educated, informed adults. Further, they bring the unique insights and experiences of their racial or ethnic heritage to the educational environment and to their professional careers.

About Us

The relationship between Our Lady of Guadalupe Middle School and students/families continues after students complete the OLG educational program and receive their 8th grade diplomas.

All students know from the time they are accepted into the school that the school has a commitment to support them from middle school through secondary school and hopefully onto post secondary education.

This commitment is ensured through a wonderful component of OLG called the Graduate Support Program. By means of this program, OLG remains connected with families and accompanies and supports graduates in their educational endeavors.

Our Lady of Guadalupe School is part of the NativityMiguel Network

Our Lady of Guadalupe is a Catholic Nativity Miguel school. OLG aims to provide quality education for students who otherwise would not have access to such an opportunity. The educational values and elements that we strive to achieve are rooted in the Nativity Miguel network model, and they include:

An outstanding academic program preparing students for high school and higher education- it is an expectation that all of our students will go to college or the university;
Community building, welcoming, hospitality;
Commitment to promoting Christian Service, Sustainability, Peace, and Social Justice as integral to the school’s mission;
Daily opportunities for growth in spirituality and prayer;
Emphasis on parental involvement (we have 100% parental turnout and 100% parental dedication);
An extended learning day (from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm);
A teacher-student ratio of 1-15;
Monthly Saturday learning experiences;
A required summer program;
And a Graduate Support Program that assists and encourages our graduates throughout their high school and higher education years.

The OLG Graduate Support Program is designed to serve OLG graduates and OLG 8th graders. This program is a bridge between the small, caring, urban bilingual learning community at OLG and the large, academically rigorous, more de-personalized high school learning environment. It is the means by which OLG accompanies our graduates and provides support as they continue their education through high school and on to post-secondary education. It is the resource used to assist 8th graders and their parents in high school selection and preparation for high school. It is the program that enables OLG to support and assist OLG graduates to realize their academic potential and leadership abilities.

Our Community's Goals

For Grades 7 and 8:

Extend the supportive network of both the school and adult mentors to students as they move from middle school into high school.

For Graduates:
